I'm writing here just to show you this awesome thing
Two days ago I grilled some rabbit shoulders and some quails.
I covered all with melted butter and magic dust rub, but I decided to grill quails indirectly.
In weber Q 1400 you cannot grill a beer can chicken, because the lid is too small.
But you can grill beer can quails!!! On the rack from Ikea I put my quails upright, look at them!
So nice, aren't them?
I grilled them indirectly for 30 minutes with rabbit shoulders at 180°C-190°C and smoked them with a little bit of Oak wood chips.
After this I had 65°C inside the rabbit shoulders, so i moved everything directly on the grill to let the quails' skin crisp and let the shoulders finish their cooking, all together with some corn cobs. At 70°C inside the rabbit shoulders everything was ready.
All very good. Magic dust rub is perfect with rabbit and quails, and I got my ipothesis about butter and smoking flavour: in my opinion butter is better than olive oil to catch some smoking flavour on the surface of the meat.
All very good. Try them!
