Flatbread/Pita bread

Flatbread as a sidedish for meat, dips e.a.




  1. Work all ingredients to a soft dough. Add salt last. Let it rest at room temperature for 2 hours, then cool it down for another 12 hours.
  2. On baking day divide dough in equally sized pieces and knead them round. Let rest covered for another 2 hours.
  3. Before baking the pitas flatten and stretch them softly with the back of the hand. Don't press too much air out of the doughballs. Sprinkle water on them, and cover them with a pinch of sesame or black cumin. Bake them in a preheated baking oven at 590°F 5 to 7 minutes until nicely browned.
