Directions
  1. Finely chop garlic, peppers and herbs.
  2. Cut off the top of the pumpkin and hollow it out. If the pumpkin does not fit into the Dutch Oven, cut off something of the bottom; this can be chopped or diced and be put into the minced meat.
  3. Mix minced meat with the roll, egg, the majority of the cheese, herbs, peppers und spices. Fill it into the pumpkin such that the top still fits onto it. Spread the rest of the cheese on top of the meat mix and put the pumpkin top back on.
  4. Cover the Dutch Oven bottom with bacon stripes, center the pumpkin on it.
  5. Wash the potatoes and split them lengthwise, arrange them besides the pumpkin. They may be seasoned with salt or seasonings to taste.
  6. If there is still bacon left, it can be put onto the potatoes.
  7. Put the broth into the pot.
  8. Let it stew for two hours with one third of the briquets under and two thirds on top of the Dutch oven (number according to its size).
