Ich habe nun ein neues Exemplar. Dieses ließ sich ohne Probleme in Betrieb nehmen und hat bisher keine Ausfallerscheinungen. Alle Verbindungen stabil und auch über VPN klappt der Zugriff sofort. Wenn es so bleibt, bin ich zufrieden(er). Eine App im Tablet-Format wäre speziell für Long Jobs prima. Da war das igrill3 schon nett...

Welche Version und FW hat das neue?
Mein Grill Eye ist kaputt gegangen und da es ein Garantiefall war habe ich das Geld zurück. Jetzt überlege ich mir was ich als Ersatz anschaggen möchte. Das GrillEye Pro Plus scheint ja raus zu sein. Was würdet ihr mir denn als gute Alternative Empfehlen. Das neue Thermometer sollte den selben Leistungsumfang wie das alte Grill Eye haben.

Let me share my experience with your Pro Plus device so far. I have the same “connection lost” problem as many others too in WiFi mode. The hardware is fine and I think the price tag is well justified for that kind of quality. The iPhone app is a textbook example of how not to approach a wireless pairing. I do have respect for your situation as a pioneer in that market and I am well aware that there are obstacles that are not easy to overcome but:
I don‘t have respect for the cocky responses to dissatisfied customers who spent money on your products and cannot use it the way that you advertised it.
I cannot understand why software problems as the „long WiFi password” problem or the “iPhone lock screen - connection lost” problem have not yet been resolved. There has neither been a firmware update nor a software update even though the problems are known at least since June.
You claim that you “do not treat GrillEye users as beta testers and I will explain thoroughly why []”
Now let me explain to you why this is “exactly” what you do:
You supply customers with your product because the hardware is fine while the software is crappy. You are asking for understanding for the fact that it is not working properly. I think that many users do have understanding. But instead of taking complaints seriously, you shift responsibility to cell phone os architecture and whatnot. Don’t get me wrong: I see the challenges, but most of your official social media communication towards customers with problems has the scent of -> it’s everybody else’s fault! Even if there is a bit of truth in it (it certainly is) I think you should consider a bit more modesty. Correct me if I am wrong but I think it is you who is unable to supply a fix over this summer. I would expect a company that has these severe quality problems to be a solution seeker, to hire qualified staff or to get external help with the software (consulting).
You do not deliver, and you are on a very successful path of building a track record of not delivering. I would love to have a working product and I think this product is great when bug free, but I have lost confidence in this company. And it sure does not help to threaten paying customers with legal action (because they recommend a competitors product). it rather reveals your attitude towards your „most valuable asset” and reflects very very poorly on your company.

Mein Englisch ist nach 40 Jahren bisschen eingeschlafen aber du scheinst da sehr großen Frust zuhaben
Habe nur den Inkbird IBT-6X, brauche auch nicht die Box, damit jeder alles mit bekommt, Habe mich selber damals gefragt ob das Angeberei ist die Box uffem Tisch zu stellen oder
soetwas still überm Handy zu machen. Die zweite Version gefiel mir besser. Das fällt unaufällig unter können.
Im übrigen benutze ich das Teil nur noch für größere Sachen ab 2,5 Kilo die Erfahrung über paar Jahre zeigten, für Kleinigkeiten lohnt sich so etwas nicht.

Ach, ich fänd es einfach praktisch wenn ich die Benachrichtigung aufs Handy bekomme, vor allem wenn nachts bei long jobs die garraumtemperatur abfällt. Da ich aber eigentlich ständig nur connection lost benachrichtigungen bekomme hab ich die handyfunktion jetzt deaktiviert.
Ich denke man sollte anders mit Kunden umgehen die 100 Euro und mehr für ein Thermometer ausgeben. Hätte ich diese unverschämten Reaktionen von GrillEye hier und bei Facebook nicht gesehen dann hätte ich wahrscheinlich gar nichts geschrieben, aber das ist einfach dreist und ich kann mich auch nicht erinnern dass ich das in der Form schon einmal von einem Unternehmen gesehen habe.
Ganz ehrlich, wenn man die Rechtfertigungen von GrillEye liest um was für einen technologischen Fortschritt, ja paradigmenwechsel es angeblich geht, und man könne ja wohl mal ein bisschen Geduld haben weil man ja quasi als ritter der Tafelrunde sich aufgemacht hat um die ganze grillcommunity mit dem Produkt zu retten: so viel bullshit ertrage ich einfach nicht.
Es ist immer noch ein grillthermometer und kein Medikament gegen Krebs oder raketenwissenschaft. Die Leute haben den Schuss nicht gehört.

Hast du dir das WLANThermo Nano mal angesehen? Das bietet eine Benachrichtigung auf ein oder auch mehrere Endgeräte. Und liegt auch preislich in der selben Klasse.

New Firmware Version 1.108
Today our engineers have submitted in the Apple store the latest #GrillEye_PRO_App iOS version. As soon as the new iOS app is approved, the new firmware 1.108 will also be available for update.
It is really important to have both application and firmware updated.
Setup instructions:
========================================
1. Go to settings , press restore data/reset everything
2. Remove the iPhone app
3. Reboot your iPhone
4. Press the power button in your GrillEye PRO device for more then 10 seconds and release
5. Install the GrillEye PRO app
6. Setup the wifi
7. Exit the app by terminating it
8. Please make sure that in the upper right corner of the device it mentions WiFi and the same applies in the upper right corner of the app
9. Congratulations!!! You have completed the process!!!

ich wollte mir dieses Thermometer vom Geburtstagsgeld kaufen. Es scheint wohl besser zu sein, wenn ich noch bis zum Frühjahr warte. Vielleicht ändert sich bis dahin ja noch etwas.
