Pulled Pork mit Weber Elektro Q120/Q140

Halli hallo,
ich bin neu hier, bin aber in der Vergangenheit schon öfters auf der Suche nach Informationen und Rezepten hier geendet.
Gestern habe ich mein zweites Pulled Pork über den Elektro-Weber gequält und dazu wieder einmal Temperaturschriebe erstellt. Da sich hier ja so einige Spezialisten tummeln, wollte ich euch das nicht vorenthalten.

Ich weiss zwar nicht wie das hier so mit externen Links gehandhabt wird, aber im Zweifelsfall kann der Link ja wieder entfernt werden. Auch möchte ich ja nicht den Eindruck erwecken dass ich das nur um der Verlinkund Willen poste, aber ich denke
das könnte den Ein- oder Anderen hier interessieren und evtl. weiterhelfen.

I read that you were able to modify your electro Q in a gas grill. how did you do that?

Würde mich auch interessieren was du da für einen Umbau gemacht hast.

Welche Teile, woher, wie gin der Einbau, was muss man beachten etc. etc

Well, due to the interest:

Modification is maybe a big word because I replaced most of the functional parts, instead of modifiying them.

For me there were some reasons for the modification:

- I could not sell the electro grill and simply buy the gas variant, because it was a present and I would have offended the donators
- I did not want to spend the money for a complete new grill (and did not want to loose the money by selling the electro used)
- I did not have the place to store a second grill
- The expensive parts (case, lid, undercarriage, side tables) are the same for gas & electro so it was a relatively easy mod
- I got a very good deal on the gas regulator (brand new, still in the original packing, for 10€ from ebay)

Now I still have the chance to modify back to electro in approx. 15 minutes (which I use to do for low & slow and unattended grilling)

Since Weber sells all the parts as spare parts, you can buy anything you need for the gas grill, which is what I simply did.
Just look in a good Weber supply store.
The gas regulator is quite overpriced for its poor performance (~60€), so if you have to buy it new, it might not be a good deal at all.

I bought:
- Gas regulator
- Flame tube
- Piezo Ignition
- Regulator holder bracket (plastic part) and Temp. adjustment knob
- One part grill grate (the electro grill grate does not have the deflectors above the flame tube)

I modifiied the piezo ignition holder a bit and had to drill two holes on the left side of the case for the ignition elektrode and the screw.
I bend an Z-shaped (2x90° edges) holder sheet (2.5mm stainless steel) for the right side of the flame tube and
drilled/filed the opening in the case for the flame tube / gas regulator connection. The holder sheet is fixed by the top 2 screws of
the original electro heater holder.
Well, I my memory, that's it.

Hast du 2 Multimeter benutzt oder kann das Multimeter mit 2 Temp. Fühlern umgehen?

Hi, nein, das Multimeter kann nur einen Kanal verarbeiten.
Da es per USB angeschlossen wird ist es kein Problem mehrere gleichzeitig am Rechner laufen zu lassen.
Es gibt günstigere Thermoelement-Logger, aber ich benütze die Multimeter für alles mögliche, da lohnt sich die Anschaffung.

Die Laufen aber alle mit den K-Fühlern und Messen nur die Differenz zwischen Messgerät und Fühlerspitze oder?

Also bauartbedingt liefert ein Thermoelement ja die Differenz zwischen Meßstelle und Referenzstelle.
Der Trick ist aber, dass die Referenzstelle (also das Multimeter) Temperaturkompensiert ist (z.B. mittels PTC),
damit bekommst Du dann schon die absolute Temperatur. Hängt aber natürlich vom Meßverstärker ab den Du verwendest.
Und, ja, ist für K-Typ TCs

Sieht gut aus! Mein Thermometer hab ich genauso befestigt wie du im ersten Beitrag, hat gut funktioniert.
